Graph of the Month
The rate of inflation is the main topic in the Australian financial world this month. The below graphic shows the basket of goods and services that the Australian Bureau of Statistics monitors to determine what the rate of inflation is. Each group is then weighted on how often the average household in Australia may spend money on that item. The objective to keeping inflation within a 2-3% target range is what has contributed to almost three decades of stable economic growth in Australia and the developed world.
